Beneficiaries of the Program

Romanian citizenship

The two members of the couple (married or not)/ infertile woman should be Romanian citizens and have their domicile in Romania.

Insurance

The two members of the couple (married or not) infertile woman should be insured in the Romanian medical system.

Partner of the program

The IVF procedure should be conducted in a medical unit within Romanian territory, be a partner of the program and be authorized to conduct these types of activities.

Age of woman

The woman’s age should be between 20 - 45 years old.

Indications and Funded Activities

Indications for the IVF/ET Procedure

  • Absence or obstruction of both fallopian tubes.
  • Severe male pathology: Less than 5 million sperm with progressive motility or less than 4% normal morphology sperm.
  • Infertility of other etiologies, if conventional treatments have not resulted in pregnancy (failure to achieve pregnancy after a minimum of 3 cycles of ovarian stimulation with intrauterine insemination).
  • Advanced endometriosis (stages III-IV).

  • Egg retrieval: Follicular puncture under local anaesthesia or sedation
  • Sperm processing
  • Insemination of eggs: For spontaneous fertilization (IVF)
  • Embryo culture: 72 hours
  • Embryo transfer
  • Case monitoring: Up to 6 weeks after IVF
